What cells did with added NAD
Researchers followed NAD placed outside fibroblasts and examined the substances produced as it broke down. They studied chemical processing, rather than skin appearance or health.
The fibroblast metabolism paper reported breakdown by enzymes at the cell surface and uptake of a resulting substance, adenosine. This helps explain why added NAD is not simply a parcel delivered intact into every cell.
The finding belongs to a cell culture. It does not establish how a particular preparation behaves throughout a living human body.
